Which Winter Coat Trend is Best for You 2017

I love jackets, but I used to be someone who just hated coats. Well, I didn’t hate them, but I always felt like in winter whenever I had a cute outfit on, a hat, coat, and scarf would ruin the outfit and I’d just look like a little chunky puff walking around campus. Of course, now I know that a great winter coat can keep you both warm and stylish and even elevate your outfit even more. In this post, I’ll be sharing what I think are the top four coat trends for 2017 and 2018 (the new year is so close!)

Teddy Bear Coat

The teddy bear coat is my favorite coat trend of the four. It gives a different look than what we’ve seen before plus it’s really cozy. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll know from my stories that I got the I.AM.GIA teddy coat, which a lot of people on Instagram have been obsessing over this coat and the Australian brand that just popped up this year. I love the street and urban vibe of I.AM.GIA. A lot of the stuff I wouldn’t wear but I’ve been definitely repping this coat. I got mine off eBay from someone in America because I was apprehensive about shipping from Australia as I have read some complaints from people waiting two months for their item. So I would check eBay first, there are even some great 20$ dupes too. But you can get your teddy coat from other places like NA-KD fashion and H&M. My second teddy coat is from H&M and I love the color and length (Unfortunately I can’t find it I think it’s sold out)! The Teddy Coat goes perfectly with everything. I would rock it with some cute dark wash ripped jeans a and a white tee and my baker boy hat and maybe my longline blazer for layering. So cute!

Puffer Coat

The puffer coat has also been a really popular coat for this season. H&M has quite a few of them in different colors to choose from. I think they look really cool, but me personally I have opted not to go for the puffer coat because I don’t like how the material feels that much. But I really like all the colors you can get them in like yellow, blue, and red. You can make such a fun statement rocking one of those primary colors! I remember when I was in middle school and puffer jackets with the fur lined hood were soo hot back then. I begged my parents for a pink one with fur and I loved wearing it. So my puffer jacket phase is over, but it’s another great option. Personally, I think the coolest style of puffer jacket is the cropped style with wide spacing in between seams. I much prefer this style than ones that are long shiny and have smaller spacing in between seams. Anyway, the puffer coat would look so cute with jeans and some knee high or thigh high boots.

Aviator Jacket

The next coat is the aviator jacket. This is a good option for those who like a laid-back but still chic and classy look. The aviator jacket is a style classic so you can’t go wrong with this one. The shearling on the inside keeps you warm, plus it’s a nice cozy contrast from the leather. Acne is famous for their gorgeous aviator jackets but Zara and H&M have some really good dupes too. The great thing about coats and jackets is that you can wear any old thing and when you put on the coat it instantly creates a fabulous look!

Wool Coat

Last but not least is the wool coat. I think this style is my second favorite after the teddy coat. I love the clean minimal look of this coat. The thick wool keeps you warm but it’s not bulky so it’s perfect. I actually have one in camel. I was and still kinda am obsessed with this warm brown color and I got my coat a few years ago, but it definitely still works today. I’m thinking about getting a black one. I tried on one by Theory at Saks and  I felt so cool. This is definitely the coat to go for if you favor a clean classic look that is streamlined and not chunky.

I’m loving the looks of all of these coats, although the teddy bear coat would have to be my favourite! I don’t really need a thick winter coat like this in Brisbane though, haha!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are having a great week! It’s hard to believe there are just a few days left in 2017! A happy new year to you.
